Crafting Residential Furniture From Solid Hardwood – Our Specialty
40+ Years of Experience
For over 40 years he have been making solid wood residential and small office furniture at our workshop in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. We make a wide variety of furniture for every room in the home.
Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing
We use modern computer aided design and computer controled machinery (CAD/CAM) to create very high quality, highly customizable furniture. Our process begins often with hand sketches to explore the desired concept. Then we create virtual models that provide all dimensions for approval.
Computer controlled cutting allows us to readily modify the sizes of constituent parts to create customized versions of our designs. The accuracy of the machining allows us to build using tradition joinery techniques, like mortise and tenon joinery and fully dovetailed drawers and cases.
Since we began using CAD/CAM methods in 1999 we have developed a very large library of designs that are available for customization. Please explore this site that shows examples of our past work. However this site only shows a sample of the work that we have created over the past decades.
Updating Traditional Cabinetmaking
The manufacturing process employs traditional woodworking methods to create the panels and squares and other rectilinear elements from solid, locally sourced hardwoods. The cutting of the parts is performed on our computer controlled machining center. Then the parts for each job are carefully sanded, finished and assembled into the completed article.
Extensive Ability to Customize Production
Thanks to the flexibility of our manufacturing paradigm we have made almost countless variations on the forms shown in this site.
